Lauren Kelly (Design Psychologist - BehaviourStudio)

Topic:

Artificial intelligence may take over the world. Now, thanks to the Internet of Things, you can talk to your car and your teapot or even take a remote peek at your refrigerator to double-check what you need to buy for dinner. But how can we leverage the accelerating universe of technology to project experiences that truly connect with people? And how to articulate these experiences? In this one-day workshop, you will create through your heart, mind and eyes. First, we will start with humans – you know, those sensitive souls consisting of joy, fear, sadness, repulsion and anger in several measures – to learn what triggers certain behaviors and the fundamental role of emotions. You will spend time investigating the role of technology in all of this, as well as how to create experiences that instigate different emotional responses and generate relevant digital innovation that puts people first. Then, you will convert these ideas into something tangible, beautiful and viable, and put these experiences in the hands of individuals so that they can be tested and analyzed. Alongside practical applications of emotion-focused design, Lauren Kelly – founder of the Behavior Studio and expert in consumer behavior – will provide the background theory to ensure that you leave here today absolutely certain of what emotional buttons to press, why, where and where.
